Purpose¶
This checklist resolves open physical-verification items from the 2026-05-13
inventory revision. Each item has a working assumption in inventory.yaml
that needs ground-truth confirmation. Fill in during the next WDC rack visit
and report back so inventory.yaml can be updated.
Working assumptions are noted in italics. If reality differs, that's the finding — note it in the item's notes field.
Mobile-use tip. Each item has a check, a "Verified" date, and a "Notes" line. Tap the box to mark done; type into the notes line as you go. Take photos as you walk — note the filename in the notes.
1. Power Strip Physical Status¶
Working assumption: Power Strips 1, 2, 3 are physically removed from the rack.

2. WDC Stack — Per-Switch PSU Coverage¶
Working assumption: WDC Stack 0–3 powered from Rosemary, WDC Stack 4–6 powered from Plantain. Per-switch dual-PSU coverage is unverified — each switch could be single-PSU (single PDU dependency) or dual-PSU (true A+B redundancy).
For each switch, photograph the PSU cabling and record number of PSUs and, if dual, which PDU each PSU connects to.

3. Unlabeled Hypervisor Identification¶
Working assumption: an unlabeled hypervisor appears on both Clover and Knotweed in the spreadsheet's "what's plugged in" column. Identity, purpose, and asset attribution unknown.

4. Thyme UPS Decommissioning¶

6. Fennel Replacement Tracking¶
Working assumption: Fennel is a legacy AP7900B PDU with no email alerts, and is a single point of failure for Water + GL5 Firewall + Flower + Synology NAS + Synology Controller. Replacement is needed before Water enters production. Plantain is no longer available as a migration target (now fully loaded).

Unclear whether this is intentional A+B redundancy (each storage unit dual-PSU, one PSU on each PDU — good) or duplicate labeling (single-PSU unit recorded twice — inventory cleanup needed).
